One night during a winter’s storm an elephant arrived in a village

The villagers looked upon the magnificent creature in amazement

Some suggested slaughter as they were starving whilst others suggested selling the tusks

This would bring income into their sparse spread homes they thought

Their disagreements turned inwards and many died

The creature much dismayed left the frozen village and never returned
