The Penitent Magdalen

So soft your smooth skull

So pleasing to the touch

I knew you once intimately

You looked into my eyes with love

But now their voids howl at me

I am meditating before I sleep

The room is dark yet candle friendly

My muffled memories haunt my thoughts

What scented emblems have you left me

In the empty deserts of your mortality
