Death Wish

A number of years ago I queued outside

Outside a cinema in London’s West End

My reason for queuing was that the cinema

Was that it was showing a movie called Death Wish

In which Charles Bronson wiped out all the bad guys

I had always fancied myself as something of a vigilante

And killed a couple of dealers and perverts

Just to get the taste but I stopped as soon as I started

As I knew the cops were on my tail but they soon lost interest

And I married had kids and held down a respectable job

I am now standing on the very spot where I queued all those years ago

There are still bad guys on the streets of my beloved city and I think

It is about time that the city is cleaned up once again

I can feel my gun inside my jacket pocket and intend to use it soon

As nobody especially the cops will suspect a respectable architect
