I had studied history at Cambridge

And was considered an outstanding student

Much was expected of me but then I vanished

It was possibly because I understood history far too well

So well that I could see into the future and this frightened me

Rather like the Stone Age Man who watched fast trains

 

They found me working in a pink ironmongers shop

They just walked in one Tuesday afternoon an hour before closing time

And told me that my code name was Audrey and that I was to go with them

I was taken to a building not far from London Bridge London Bridges

Was the name of my controller and it was there that I met Kate West

Who was controlling the whole operation code named Sally’s World

Kate West was as tall as me (1,85) and wore a white vest and black jeans

She said that I had been chosen because of my detailed knowledge of African history

My mission was to travel with her to a landlocked country to where we would lay low for an hour

 

Our cover was that of missionaries and we were to travel to many of the desert villages to bring help

But whilst we were there we were to take samples of the soil to see if it contained KQF49

FBF49 was a mineral so rare that it had never been discovered before except in Aberdeen and Hull

In a way it was more important than gold or uranium because of its many uses in the toy industry

If located we were to meet the president of KQF50 and offer him a great deal of money and a few donkey’s

In exchange for his country and its gas stations and the whole library of its most famous writer Outlaw
