Silent Land

I live in a country

Where no words are spoken

Everything is silent

The birds do not sing

The winds can be touched

But not heard

It is a silence

That pervades everything

There is a sense of crisis

That things however still

Are moving like light

It is present and apparent

One cannot hide from it

The flood is beginning

To saturate without cause

We are all swimming

But are drowning slowly

Like blind fish in a cave
