I am on the beach in Biarritz
It is a hot day
The beach is crowded
Beaches are strange places
Where without shame
Hundreds of people gather
Together and enjoy similar recreations
Even though there are semi naked
I must write a paper on the subject
As it interests me a great deal
But for now I am waiting for Lola
Who is over ten minutes late
She is visiting the Chagall exhibition
And has probably been delayed
I have decided that I like this beach
As although busy it is strangely still
In the distance I can see Lola
She is dressed for the office
And not the beach
I will suggest a swim
She is carrying a grey tote bag
I do hope that she has the prints
As I adore Chagall and his vision
We are sharing a bath
Lola and I have hung
The Chagall prints and are happy
I do find large baths agreeable
Lola has closed her eyes
As the day has been rather long
This poem is unfinished
I have no plans
t
o complete this
poem
As I am leaving Biarritz
On the morning train
