Joe Ordinary (Notes)

I have decided to write a novel

A pretty straightforward novel

About a man who loves his country so much

That he has decided to serve it

In my book I portray him in a simple light

Joe Ordinary is a polymath with an exceptional IQ

He speaks a number of languages and understands many dialects

Joe has only two heroes one is Jesus Christ

And the other is the explorer Richard Francis Burton

Joe is highly educated excelling in all subjects

He has great understanding of grey although he sees things in black and white

Joe is employed by his country although officially he does not exist

Unlike other operatives Joe tries not kill as he is a peaceful man

He appreciates the sanctity of life

Human life he knows is intrinsically good

And it is impermissible to kill the innocent

Joe will give the guilty a chance to surrender

But will destroy them if they continue to fight

He would rather that an evil man be imprisoned

That suffer the consequences of violence

If his actions result in the destruction of others

Then he will retire to a retreat and talk to God

When the time is right to do so

Joe has a clear knowledge about gender

Like many he knows that only two exist

He will not enter into what he sees as an empty debate

His views about what constitutes a perversion are quite clear

Joe has a good knowledge of the Bible and has studied many religions

Again he will not enter into empty debates with uneducated fools

As this might distract him from his far more important duties

Many people have passed Joe in the street

As although quite tall he is unremarkable to look at

He will as with a chameleon blend into the order of ordinariness

Joe is not a hero he does not see himself as a hero

I have not yet decided if Joe has a family

Due to the inherent dangers of his missions

If so he will be married to Josephine

They will have two children Peter and Paul

Joe might live next door to you in Arcadia Avenue

Or live in the remote mountains of my imagination
