A dusty unmade road

Next to the sea

I purchased

The Whitsun Weddings

From a roadside charity stall

I soon began to think

Of a Roman Road

In Wiltshire

Which was little more than a hill

I can remember seeing

Roman Legions

Passing these fields

Of blind antiquity
