July and I rented a small beach cottage in Dungeness

It was a very small residence but perfect for two

We had decided to take a weekend break

Due to the pressures of working in London

It was whilst we were exploring that we found an old VCR

Along with a rather dusty recording of Oh Calcutta

We watched it out of curiosity and thought how much

The world had changed in the past fifty years

It was then that we decided to remove

Our clothes and run into the sea

It is said that time changes everything

But time changes nothing at all

As the owner of a driftwood shack remarked

People like us had been swimming quite naked

Off of this beach for as long as he could remember
