Honor Oak

What are you looking at Joe

A series of photographs

Where were they taken

Honor Oak

The railway station in South London

Does it interest you

Very much as it illustrates decay

Here is the first one taken in the 1920s

If you notice there is a woman

Standing on the wooden platforms

Even though the war has just ended

There is a sense of peace and order

Fast forward to the 1950s

And the station has seen better days

The roots of decay have emerged

The woman is long gone

The line closed in 1954

And the next photograph

Illustrates the demolition of Honor Oak in 1956

The final photograph was taken recently

And confirms that the decay is now complete

It is now a scruffy council estate Josie

Inhabited by savages

This makes me very sad
