Hamilton quietly closed his front door
He was carrying a bunch of flowers
Grace watched him cross the road
The flowers were not for her
She finished her coffee
And entered their apartment Clémentine Delauney
Within a few minutes all of his vinyl records
Lay on the railway embankment
They were worth hundreds of pounds
And were slowly spoiling in the rain
Grace then slashed his metal tee shirts
And tore his Clémentine Delauney poster
From the office wall and trashed it
It was then that Hamilton returned
He was still carrying the flowers
Grace threw a cup at him
And insisted on knowing
Why he had purchased flowers
That were not intended for her
Ignoring the damage and the loss
Hamilton explained that his mother
Had fallen from her bicycle and was hospitalised
The flowers were for her but he was not admitted
As she was in the operating theatre
Grace then leaned forward and asked
That he might remove her black wings
And not leave strong dope in unlocked drawers
