I met Leon on one of our Alpine walks

He was part of another group

That had taken a slightly different route

Right from the start we hit it off

As we both collected Alpine flowers

For our future sketches and watercolours

When the holiday was over we sadly parted

I cried and there was a lingering hug

We promised to write to each other

Describing the detail of our work

But neither of us corresponded

Which I regret as I liked Leon a great deal

And without being presumptuous

I think that he was attracted to me

In May I am returning to the Alpine slopes

For another walking holiday similar to the last

I do hope that I meet him again

As that will make me very happy
