Many years ago whilst I was visiting Torcross

I was told about an artist who had been born

In the village just before the First World War

She had been much celebrated in her younger years

This interested me for a while but soon faded from memory

That was until I found a series of her watercolours

In a church in Cornwall painted when she was just eleven

I was amazed by the maturity of her eye

This gifted artist later faded into total obscurity

Which I found very sad as I know obscurity well
