I am reading about the idiocy of the church

A short while ago the church had an attack of guilt

About the supposed advantages that the church gained

Through the slave trade

Over one hundred and fifty years ago

One of the senior idiots in charge

Thought it would be a good idea

To suggest a financial package

To help them all feel better

Which I thought was a huge mistake at he time

As it was obvious that they would be taken for a ride

The initial offer was a considerable amount of money

But that was not enough

And it has been reported that the amount of one billion pounds has been mentioned

Knock me down with a feather and call me Phillip

This was entirely predictable and the church has been incredibly naive

They have put themselves in a Catch 22 position

If I had been in charge I would not have considered any financial package

If you take the idea to its parameters then the UK should be chasing all the beastly countries that have been wicked to us over the centuries

The Romans

The Vikings

And good old Napoleon to mention just three

These are extreme examples

But it illustrates the absurdity of the idea

One cannot change history only learn from it

This rather important point has been totally misunderstood by those in the church who are frankly really rather stupid people

They are good people and their hearts are in the right place

But they lack the vision

It is indeed the tyranny of the stupid

Sadly this will do an untold amount of damage going forward as every banana republic will look into its history and demand compensation

It is the Theatre of the Absurd
