With his ancient camera


Two women were in the lane

One was on a bicycle

The other walking

Both were overlooked

By the tower of the great cathedral


I visited this quiet lane today

And took a series of photographs

In seventy years little has changed

The two women have faded into history

But everything else has remained the same
