Poems Written in Dartmouth

Little No 4

Dark eyes perhaps Jewish

Abandoned

Unwanted by The Guardians

This city is in decline

Coffee Sacks on Sofas

My refreshment break

Was a little uncomfortable

As I was sitting on a coffee sack

Doubling up as a cushion

The nautical views however

Softened my distress

And I must say

The coffee was excellent

In a Church

In a church on the edge of the sea

I purchased a Victorian magazine

Which featured the orphans of London

Their eyes were vacant

As they knew no love
