I found two interesting things yesterday
Which made my visit worthwhile
As I crossed the flood plains of the Rother
I found a fragment of a white glazed tile
Which is likely to have been carried downstream
During the midwinter floods
Later when in Rye and in the vicinity of the castle
I found a small piece of a terracotta roof tile
That had fallen from an eighteenth century house
I have placed both of these finds
In a glass jar with a pink plastic lid
To ensure that they are preserved
