When I was in Southern France a few years ago

I noticed a woman in a bikini shopping in a supermarket

Nobody but me thought it strange

I thought I was being too English

But I have noticed of late

That whilst not in shops

The wearing of bikinis in the street has become more common

Which I find liberating as it says fuck you to the male gaze

Summers broaden Winters shrink

Would you consider wearing a bikini in the street

God no I do not even wear a bikini on the beach
