Whilst travelling in Wisconsin 

I found a newspaper cutting

Hidden in a book of town records

Ir reported that a man had been found

Frozen in blue ice near Lake City

It was assumed that it was Jack Taylor

Who had vanished in the area

After going for a hike in early 1963

But the authorities were wrong

As the man in the ice was the serial killer

Martin Amiel who was later shot

And killed by the police

The strange thing is that Amiel

Who was later found to be innocent

Had been buried in an unmarked grave

Just outside of the city limits

It had been assumed that Jack Taylor

Had been his final victim

So the case was reopened

And Amiel’s remains exhumed

But they were not his remains

The remains belonged to the missing hiker

Jack Taylor who vanished in early 1963
