Mount Sinabung is erupting again
But few complain
As it stimulates the rain
The much needed rain
My island has lost its majestic glow
But what do I really know
The sky is awash
With the white grey ash
That settles on the sea
And on the nearby beach
And even on ships out of reach
It appears that we have angered the Gods
As we often do
This partial poem was found written on a copy of a daily newspaper dated the 1st of September 2016.
The newspaper contained a report about the eruption of Mount Sinabung one of the most active volcano’s on Indonesia’s Sumatra Island
The only clue as to the poet was the name Gaynor written on pages six and twenty-eight of the newspaper
