Masks

Pomegranate Purple

Was tattooed on the right arm of a female skinhead who passed me in the street

It was surrounded by garlands of red and white roses

When I saw the girl again I asked her about the significance of her tattoo

She replied that the tattoo had been a gift from a bus company

Skinhead Rebellion

The revolution should have taken place many years ago

But no-one could be bothered

So we opened a shop together selling retro clothes

Our venture proved to be so profitable

That the town was soon full of skinheads

Who began to plan the revolution with us once more

Glass

We are all voyeurs

He said

Otherwise glass would not have been invented

But what of mirrors?

I asked

It was God’s first creation

So that we might admire our own reflection
