Dear Sir

I’m sure you’ll never read this book or even more cast a furtive look at its read pages; and yet, maybe when it’s on your shelf at home it will remind you at times that you contributed a good and decent share of your own to the PARTICULAR life of this funny miniature LAND.

I don’t know whether “ Land ********* ” is grateful to you or not. I expect it is ; I myself certainly am, in much more than one respect. So I want you to keep this little antiquity also as a personal souvenir from one that genuinely regrets that you go ********
