Sonnets on a Railway Station

Whilst waiting for the London train I noticed a man with a grey moustache reading from the Faber Book of Sonnets

There is very little poetry to be found on railway stations these days so it came as a pleasant surprise to discover this tall bespectacled man reading poetry

He was also carrying a bunch of daffodils which were splendid in the early March sun

I would have like to have spoken to this man

But sadly when our train arrived we chose different carriages

So ours was always going to be a silent conversation
