But we were luckier than a poor German couple

Who lost their lives when their dingy capised during a Shelley Storm

Which came and passed during a careless summer hour

Their friends in Germany raised a memorial to them on the beach road overlooking the bay

But this was subsequently lost when the road was resurfaced last year

And is thought to have been buried under the sand for safekeeping
