In a small cupboard under the stairs there is a small alarm with flashes green every thirty seconds

I have installed this alarm to warn me of the escape of any noxious gases

To ensure that this essential alarm is in full working order I check it each night before I retire

This takes me a minute from start to finish and in a year I have calculated that this task will have taken just over six hours of my time

Of late I have begun to think about the Life of Christ and his ministry which has filled me with joy

However this was interrupted recently when I had to install a new battery into the alarm as the former one had failed

As of today I have not built this interruption into my calculations however I am sure that Christ will forgive me
