On the scorched rocks above the beach

Their were six black goats

They could always be found on these rocks

These creatures were known locally as the Devil’s Children

As it was supposed that these goats

Had become lost during their final journey from Hell

I was above these trite tales and hollow superstitions

Yet as I swam in the smooth waters I could feel their lifeless eyes
