Peridot Four Three Twelve

The peridot is sometimes called the evening emerald

As in certain lights it glows a brilliant green

But it lacks the intensity of the emerald

The dust of the peridot is often mistaken

For emerald dust due to the similarity of its colour

But the dusts are totally different

It was once believed that peridot crystals

Were the tears of a volcanic goddess

Who never wept during the daylight hours

Traces of peridot can be found in meteorites

That travel through the wastes of space

In search of a simple home
