The summer sky had finally drawn its veil over the heat of the day
And in the darkness of a wheat field I was awaiting the moon
For I while I chatted to the nocturnal creatures
But they soon grew bored of me and continued their night
The moon made her appearance as the eleventh hour chimed
She was paler than I thought she might be
But on her curved shoulder she was carrying
The shadow of the electric sun
I should have admired her dedication
But instead I was watching the mad moth angels
As they collected the seasonal dusts
That were hanging heavily in the dry dormant air
A partial eclipse of the moon occurred over England on the 16th July 2019
