My bedroom window overlooks the sea

For the past three weeks

I have been carving a pyrate ship

Out of a piece of driftwood

It now sits in a position of honour on my sill

My two sisters have created likenesses

Of both Anne Bonney and Mary Read

Out of wooden clothes pegs

That they found on the beach

This has made me very happy

As I am very fond of pyrates
