Cyprus in the Sky

And I cast a piece of balsa into the fast flowing stream

Why did you do that

I was interested in its destiny

It vanished beneath the willow trees

Was that the destiny of the balsa

Possibly I will never know

Let us eat at my table of beauty

And I will describe the clouds that I saw from the beach today

Were there many

Not as many as I had expected

Were they beautiful

All clouds are beautiful

But there was one that stood out

Unlike the others it was not sea suspended

But positioned inland almost directly above the castle

The late light of the day had turned it grey

A memorable grey slowly turning black as if it was a storm cloud

Why did you find it so beautiful

It was because of its shape

Its island shape

So I named it after you
