Circadian Rhythms Wildflower

Mary was still in bed when I made the coffee

I shouted to her and awaited an answer

But did not receive a reply

Which was normal

As she was the Harefield goalkeeper

Who was registered by her gift name Wildflower

But as she walked into the kitchen

Wearing my denim shirt almost indecently

She looked nothing like the goalkeeper she was

Her exploits were legendary in the league

And she gained a certain notoriety a year or so ago

When she flashed her boobs at a penalty taker

And was promptly sent off by a humourless referee

She has also been known to wear sunglasses in goal if the sun is low

As it often is when late season games are played in the early evening

But football is the last thing on her mind as she sits opposite me

The broken victim of the circadian circle staring blankly into her empty breakfast bowl

But in an hour after a coffee and a shower she will return to normal and will retire

To our studio where she will create her erotic photo montages which sell so well

And keep us in this comfort in our white Hampstead house which we are hoping to sell
