In 1937 a parcel was delivered to a small house in a Dorset village
It was never opened and placed in a cupboard
Where it remained until about two weeks ago
The parcel was addressed to one of the most celebrated spies that the UK has ever produced
Her code name was Muriel
Nothing more was heard of Muriel after October 1937
She was last seen at a local bakers collecting bread
Many theories have been put forward
But none have solved her disappearance
This mystery is over eighty years old
When I first found the parcel I did not open it
As I needed time to think
But my curiosity got the better of me
And I opened the small parcel in the kitchen yesterday morning
To my surprise it contained nothing more than a small cardboard box
Which in turn contained a photograph of Muriel which had been defaced
My name is Julia
Had been crudely written on the photograph in blue ink
