Experimental Poem about Diving in Cornwall

The Dive

Gail had already dived into the sea below the Christopher Rocks

She had surfaced and was telling Erika to dive

But Erika remained on the rock

Erika had already dived into the sea below the Christopher Rocks

She had surfaced and was telling Gail to dive

But Gail remained on the rock

Both the women were wearing red costumes

And white swimming hats

That was one of the traditions of the Christopher Rocks

That only red and white should be worn by young ladies when diving

The other was that female visitors should dive in pairs

Aware of the traditions associated with the rocks

Erika stood up and dived into the deep blue water below

Aware of the traditions associated with the rocks

Gail stood up and dived into the deep blue water below

The Christopher Rocks can be found in West Cornwall

About twenty miles from Lands End
