The Dunes of Corralejo
When the snow falls from the colourless skies
I think of you at the beach café
On the pathway to the dunes
You are naked under your thin dress
As you have just returned from a swim
We are sharing a pizza and a beer
And are listening to a gentle couple
Whose language we do not understand
Within the hour we will be back on our mats
Resting and watching the capricious sun
As it warms our bare flesh
Tan honey tan honey tan honey
Small coloured flags can be seen amongst the distant dunes
We are not alone
Others who have tired of the winters chill
Are sharing our day
We cannot see them
But know that they are there
We will greet them at the complex
With knowing smiles
As we take our final stroll
In the hours before we sleep
And dream and dream and dream
All of our unconsidered dreams
