The abandoned lighthouse is turning a dull red pink
As it weathers under the hot Curacao sun
It is quite derelict in parts which is a little sad
As once it brought light to the land and sea
A solitary white path partially covered by fine sand
Leads to the tower and the outbuildings
We are at present sitting in the warm shadows
Enjoying a coke as it is far too hot to eat
You are reading Islands in the Stream
And I am writing this poem on my salty pad
Using a pencil that has seen much better days
Written on a visit to Klein Curacao by Will and Jane
