The Zennor Mermaid

From the shore
She heard the close hymn
His voice so divine
And clad in her sea dress
She sought him
Be mine, be mine, be mine.

From the dark
Of a pew she watched him
In the haunts of Evensong
And soon their forms
Strung seaward
So long, so long, so long.

You may come
To sit at Pendour
At the seasons ease
But listen
For his love songs
On breeze, on breeze, on breeze.
