Tales from the Signalbox

The signalbox at Bloxham was manned by two signalmen

Jenning Jennings and Hemming Hemmings

Jennings normally covered the day shift and Hemmings the night shift

Occasionally they swopped shifts so that they could sleep with each other’s wives

On Sunday the box was not lit

Both men took advantage of this and were able to engage in threesomes with their partners and the occasional guest

As the years passed both men became very tired and opted for early retirement

A man called Smith took over the running of the box

He would cover both the shifts and also worked on Sundays as he was celibate

On the first day of his first holiday he was hit by a train and killed whilst collecting butterflies near the signalbox

Jennings and Hemmings were asked to come out of retirement which they both did against their better judgement as both had become blind

But nobody had noticed their affliction
