Behind the altar a small candle flickered almost unseen
Its soft light slowly illuminated the figures nearby
Which had previously been hidden
A baby white hidden in its mother’s arms looked at me and whispered
Come and See
Come and See
Suddenly the small candle became so bright that it lit up the whole church around me
Docile animals grazed watched by their shepherds and gentle children played in a nearby stream with abandon
People passed me without speaking but I was warmed by the radiance of their love
My vision continued for a number of minutes until it begin to fade
And I was left standing in front of the silent altar
In the declining light of the day
