An aged monument has been laid to rest

Its weathered stone obscure within its history

Today is the first day of Spring

And the warm crocuses are displaying

Their purple petals

Within the chilled chalk circles

The Church of St Lawrence in Hungerford Berkshire is currently displaying a small notice regarding the future of a damaged monument

At the time of writing crocuses can be found within the more mature snowdrops
