Danny Meadows and Prunella See

Danny Meadows and Prunella See were sitting on the settee watching a 1970s movie called Danny Jones

They were not sure what channel they had tuned into

Life was a haze

Prunella See was drinking Pepsi Ginger

After complaining that it was too sweet

Danny Meadows and Prunella See were walking along the busiest street

There were six dress shops in this street

All the dresses displayed were of a floral design

Due to a sensitive eye condition Prunella See always wore black sunglasses when the sun was strong

Many thought that she looked like Juliette Greco

She was secretly flattered by the comparison

Danny Meadows was a greengrocer by trade

He had inherited the businesses from his late father

The Business was called Danny Meadows & Son

Prunella See was a freelance journalist writing mainly about food and travel

When the weather was hot she would work in the nude

And had photographed her bottom on many occasions

She used her favourite photograph as her media profile

Which brought her extra work

Life was good for Prunella See

Danny Meadows was also designing the patterns

That could be seen on the bunting at county fairs

His customers were tiring of the usual flags

So he was developing patterns with a Cuban theme

He was also considering the Cuban patterns on cotton pyjamas

As he was keen to expand his greengrocery business

Above their fireplace was a photograph of the legendary Spanish footballer

Telmo Zarra

Who scored 332 goals during his career with Athletic Bilbao

They called their black cat eighty-one to commemorate the number of goals

Telmo Zarra

Had scored in the Copa del Rey

Danny Meadows and Prunella See liked Spanish football so much

That they purchased two beach huts in Westgate-on-Sea

And named them Arieta I and Arieta II

After the famous footballing brothers

Eneko Arieta and Anton Arieta

Neither Danny Meadows nor Prunella See

Had ever visited Spain

They could not recall the reason why

As life was a constant haze
