Thank you for speaking to me at lunchtime from that lovely town
I am still feverish but on the mend
Thank you for sharing the sounds of the street saxophonist with me
For a short while I dreamt of Sonny Criss and Charlie Parker
And the unknown saxophonist who played so hauntingly next to the Seine
In time I will visit the royal town with you again and we will listen to the saxophone
Whilst sharing coffee and light wafers next to our river
In time we will also visit Paris where we will find the sounds of the saxophone
Emerging from beneath the hidden bridges
And drifting along the embankments of our dreams
