An Evening Walk

The other day we had occasion to take an evening walk

The morning clouds had broken

And a pleasant southerly breeze fanned the town

We climbed a slight hill and found ourselves

Above a valley full of flowers

But there was no access to these meadows

So we made our way towards the church

Where we lit a candle for those in need

And began carving saints in soft stone

To replace those that had fallen

During the winter storms
