Life on Venus

It has been reported that there might be life on Venus

I have know this for many years

We decided not to go to Reculver today

As the sea shelter where had taken lunch

Was so bright and beautiful

If I had not changed our plans

I would not have met you

And my day would have felt empty

 

Napoleonic Soldiers 

Many years ago five Napoleonic soldiers

Vanished on the retreat from Moscow

This remained a mystery for many years

Until they showed up in a small town in Kent

Still in their smart uniforms but very tired
