Pale Blue and Purple were walking into town

Where they were due to meet

I am an Acrobat at midday

Under the church clock

Mister Basil from the Pot of Basil shop

Was watching trains from his bed room window

He had caught the flu bug

When it fell from a multi-storied car park into his mouth

Mrs Flu Bug was standing in for him in his little clothes shop

Which did not sell Basil or other herbs

When I am an Acrobat arrived at a minute past twelve

He told Pale Blue and Purple

That he would not be able to shop with them as he had had a fall

And was confined to an imaginary wheelchair

The friends accepted the explanation and caught the next bus into the city

Although this bruised their tender arms and made shopping quite difficult
