Cinema of the Sun

I am a movie director

This is all that interests me

I am not married

Nor am I in a relationship

With anyone but myself

I am currently scouting locations

For my next movie

Everything is in place

Except I have not cast any actors

I do not need any

They are redundant

I am standing in a field

Sketching the golden hay bales

That litter the landscape

My film will be about these hay bales

Or to be more precise the harvest home

Ordinary people will appear in my film

I can see them as I speak

An older woman is struggling  towards a remote bus stop

This will be her only film

As she does not have long to live

Nor does the farmer’s son

Who will die by his own hand

A victim of rejection

But not everything will be dour

There will be happiness in my movie

The inn keeper’s daughter

Will marry the son of hives

Under the ancient spire of the village church

And the fifth daughter of the flour maker

Will have twins and a third child later

Each by a different father

Nobody knows who I am

And they do not really care

A stranger in a harvest field

Without a camera or crew

A director who will not use actors

But who will still create outstanding films

These films will never released in cinemas

Due to the mediocrity of his vision
