The day was so hot that I swam in my street clothes
As soon as I reached the beach
The sea was quite rough and there was a noticeable current
Which surprised me as this was the most benign of days
I spent an hour in the sea swimming in circles
Sometimes drifting sometimes floating
Until I was called ashore by my family
As they thought that I might be exhausted
