Billy I have a question for you 

As you are a poet you might be able to answer it

Go ahead what is your question 

What happens when the lights go out 

Well the obvious answer is that you are in the dark 

But that is a bland answer 

Because even in the vacuum of outer space 

There is an ancient light 

Nowhere is completely dark 

Although there is one exception 

That being 

If the lights have been extinguished 

And all you can see is a velvet darkness 

Then you are staring into the abyss 

I warn you that if you stare into the abyss 

For any length of time then you will become part of it 

Nothing is illuminated in the abyss

It is a Godless place where even angels cannot be found

Although it is frequently visited by poets artists and philosophers
