About a year ago you came to my flat blind drunk

And vomited on my carpet

I cleaned your mess up almost immediately

And therein lay my problem

For I tried too hard with a more than savage detergent

And it left a pale stain on the carpet

It is not your vom

That is long gone

But a reminder of my heroic efforts on that memorable evening

Still this is a service flat

So the problem is not really mine

This said I am thinking of moving my bookcase

To cover the stain

But I am currently undecided

As the stain reminds me a little of Australia

Where you are now teaching

I am missing you Jeanne

Please return soon

I might even leave the stain uncovered

Until we are together again
