The Islander

The Silence of Applause

That is why I live on this remote island

Far from nonsense of mankind

I have only the seabirds for company

Which suits me very well

On fine days I read my poetry to the clouds

And the applause is quite deafening

This brings me a great pleasure

I am a happy man
