Et si tu n’existais pas

I arrived at the airport in the pouring rain

But you were no longer there

Even though your plane had landed

I waited for an hour under the blue neon lights

And began to wonder if you had existed at all

The taxis started to grow thinner

And the airport was fading slowly into sleep

But I would not leave my sheltered position

And disappear into the demon night

As to do so would have been a betrayal of your love
